Nintendo’s E3 Conference 2017: My Highlights of Nintendo Spotlight Live

Nintendo’s E3 Conference 2017 well what can I say. I don’t know what it is about Nintendo, there’s nothing that makes me want to go out and buy their home consoles. I don’t know whether it’s the games or the price point of their hardware and software. I have owned some of their handhelds over the years, including the original Gameboy and the DSi.

I can’t seem to put my finger on it.

However, this E3 after a pretty barren launch line-up, Nintendo appeared to have listened to their customer and started to show games, games and more games.

The obvious highlight here, and I think I speak for everyone here who were interested in Nintendo’s E3 conference, was Mario Odessey. I think it’s the nostalgia of playing a modern Mario 64-esque type game on a current platform.

It looks like so much work has been put into the game. The trailer we were shown consisted of Mario’s hat being used to control a huge number of characters in the game. Exciting.

My second highlight was the announcement of a new Metroid game that is in the works.

I think the next two highlights are on par with each other. Kirby and Yoshi both have new games in development for the Switch and will be coming in 2018.

My fourth and final highlight was the announcement of a brand new Pokemon RPG game specifically created for the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo announced many other games coming to Switch, finally, you can see them all in the list below along with each of their know release dates.

Maybe I will have to purchase a Nintendo Switch after all sometime in 2018 when all these games have released. I’m still thinking of getting a Wii U purely for the exclusives and to play all the backwards compatible games I have missed on previous Nintendo disk based consoles.
