EAs Conference E3 2017: My Highlights27th June 2017
Pre E3 shenanigans kicked off with EAs conference had its moments some good and some not so good. The two stand out games for me were Need for Speed Payback and Bioware’s new sci-fi IP, Anthem. Check out my first impressions of Need for Speed Payback if you fancy it. Anthem looked incredible with a strong emphasis on playing and exploring the expansive world with your friends.
EA spent some time pushing the annual sporting franchises Madden 18, Fifa 18 and NBA Live 18. So, if you’re a sports nut then you should be able to get your yearly sporting/gaming fix from EA’s offering.
The biggest portion of the show was dedicated to Star Wars Battlefront 2, which looked very shiny. It had a whole 30 minutes of dedicated live shredding, multiplayer gameplay. It was accompanied by commentators that loved to use the word shredding a lot.
Other things to mention were the strange use of drummers at the beginning of the show, A famous YouTuber that didn’t have a clue what the hell was going on, some more YouTubers waiting to play SWB 2 looking bored and like they had better things to do with their time.
It was overall a good presentation that wasn’t without its hiccups with some pretty looking games using the Frostbite engine. Check out the complete list of games that were shown and their release dates below.
