Sony’s E3 Conference 2017 – My Highlights

Sony’s E3 Conference 2017 – My Highlights

4th July 2017 Off By Bagwag82

Sony’s E3 conference felt like it was missing something, something special, there wasn’t that smack in the face surprise that we have become so accustomed surprise the past few years.

Instead, they opted to promote a line up of exclusives that we have already seen. I’m not saying those exclusives are bad by any means. In fact, the bar is set really high for the competition to meet and excel.

Big hitters including God of War and Days Gone were the standout games for me. The quality of these games is second to none although They won’t be released until 2018 at the earliest. Which brings me onto another point. Most of the games were for release in 2018 and beyond.

Perhaps Sony is taking a breather from churning out exclusive after exclusive in the first part of the year. Maybe because they know there will be competition from third party AAA games in the second part of the year mainly in the run up to Christmas.

Other highlights for me were Uncharted: Lost Legacy, Detroit and Spiderman (looks awesome).

Two games that made a welcome appearance were Shadow of the Colossus Remake and Monster Hunter World. Although does Shadow of the Colossus really need a remake? Let me know what you think.

PlayStation VR Limped into View

Personally I feel it was a poor showing from Sony when it came to PSVR games. You would think E3 would be have been the perfect platform to show off a long list of games coming to the platform. Instead It left me questioning how much Sony are supporting PSVR.

There were also some notable games missing from the show. I’m looking at you Knack 2 and Final Fantasy 7: Remake.

Maybe Sony are waiting to reveal more later in the year at Gamescom 2017 or their own annual PlayStation Experience event. Who Knows, but for now you can check out all the announced games and their release dates in the list below.
