The Nintendo SNES Mini released October 20th 2017 to huge success. Following on from the successful release of the original NES Mini in 2016, the SNES Mini flew off the shelves. It was high in demand. As with the previous mini console there were limited stock available.

The Nintendo SNES mini can be enjoyed by a variety of people; kids, adults, families and for avid collectors of anything gaming.

The console itself has been built to a high standard and feels solid enough.

The controllers are the same as the originals from back in the day but with a different connection to plug them in. Again they feel very sturdy and are great to play games with.

So this being Nintendo and all that, the real reason everyone has bought this mini console is for the classic Nintendo games.

Frequently Asked Question About the SNES Mini

There are many questions people are asking out there on the world wide web. So let me answer some of them for you all.

Can SNES classic play cartridges?

No, unfortunately not. I’d say the original cartridges are about the size of the console. so it would have been difficult to include this bit into the SNES Mini.

How long are the SNES classic controllers’ wires?

Fear not, the original NES Classic controllers were hampered by short controller cables. With the SNES Mini, they are about 5 feet long. This should be enough for most people.

Do SNES classic controllers work on NES classic?

Yes, you can use the SNES Classic controllers to play games on the NES Mini.

Are there any SNES mini accessories?

There are a few SNES mini accessories available on the market official and unofficial. Heres a selection of those:

  • SNES Classic controller extension
  • Super Nintendo Mini Case
  • SNES Mini USB adapter
  • SNES Mini wireless controller

Can you add games to SNES mini?

Unfortunately you can’t add any further games to the current library of 21 games. It would have been great to have had a cartridge slot on top giving you the opportunity to purchase some classic retro games.

The SNES Mini is worth the purchase and should be quite easy to get hold of these days. The nostalgia is strong with this one.

Oh there’s also a nifty rewind feature to help you get through those retro games that, lets face it, games were more difficult back in the day compared to todays offerings.
